Hyundai Veloster N

The power steering system fails at random sometimes on the highway and off. This is very dangerous as it is very difficult to maneuver the car when I do not have the power steering working especially at highway speeds. This issue has not been reproduced as of yet or inspected. When I am driving first a lane departure or lane assist warning flashes immediately followed by total power steering loss.

Power steering failure while at speed on the highway. This caused safety systems to be disabled and the car was very hard to control. If this happened while cornering, a deadly crash could happen. the problem has not been confirmed or reproduced. it has not been inspected. The steering system failed while driving down the highway on two different ocassions. I got a warning message saying the driver att warning sys had malfunctioned (it wasn't on a the time) then after that message disappeared, I had a red light in the steering column symbol in the dash. The steering lost all power and it was really hard to drive the car as it felt like a car with no power steering at all but worse. When slightly braking, steering becomes heavy and resistant. Steering is slightly vague. Sometimes the lane departing warning shows up stating “check lane departing warning system” on my dash.

The issue involved the electronic power steering (EPS) system on my 2022 Hyundai Veloster N (approx. 70,000 miles). While driving, the EPS stopped providing steering assist and a fault warning appeared on the dash. After checking the engine bay fuse box, I found that the PDM 7.5A micro blade fuse (which powers the EPS circuit) appeared heat-discolored/burned.
